Detoxify the poison of the burning trees

A sting in the tail and you were nothing more then a scorpion that crawled inside my head and corrupted all the forests that I planted for you,

before I could scream, I had a gasoline dream and burnt forever the memories of all the words you’ve always pretended you never meant,

So I took a scalpel to my own chest and slowly prised myself open, I wanted to prove that my heart stopped beating the moment you walked away,

but inside all I found was the same words ‘save this space for me’ carved into a solitary charred tree and my veins full of the toxins of an aforementioned dream.
